WCU Archives: Digitized Catalogs & Yearbooks

Digitized Catalogs

The William Carey University Libraries has contracted with the Internet Archive and the Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative to digitize its collection of college catalogs.  These catalogs provide information about policies, academic programs, courses of study, and some provide the names of faculty. The catalogs were published under different titles, and often have different listings for undergraduate, graduate, and summer sessions. Original copies of the catalogs may be viewed by appointment only by contacting Christy Calhoun, Archival Librarian at 601.318.6236 or ccalhoun@wmcarey.edu.

Digitized Yearbooks

The William Carey University Libraries has contracted with the Internet Archive and the Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative to digitize its collection of yearbooks.  The Pine Burr was the name of the Mississippi Woman’s College yearbook, and it was published from 1913 until 1955.  In 1954, the name of the college was changed to William Carey College, and in 1956, the title of the yearbook was changed to The Crusader.  In 2005, the yearbook was entitled Reel Life.  In 2006, the name of the college was changed to William Carey University and the yearbook for that year was entitled Lasting Impressions.  In 2007, the yearbook was renamed The Crusader.  No yearbooks were published between 1941 and 1947 when the college was closed.  Original copies of the yearbooks may be viewed by appointment only by contacting the Office of the Director of Libraries at 601.318.6170.
