My Folder reset: Home

Printable Instructions

Attention WCU students, faculty, and staff:

The “My Folder” option used across EBSCO databases will reset Tuesday, June 30.  Unmoved items will be lost.  If you miss this window, we CANNOT retrieve your saved articles, catalog records, etc.  Please use the information below to export your saved items before Tuesday, June 30.

The simplest way to save your items is to email them to yourself from “My Folder.”  You get a permalink, so it will be very easy to retrieve articles and reassign them to the new folder.  It’s also easy to export a CSV file to Excel, which provides a permalink as well.  If you are using a citation manager like Zotero or Mendeley, there’s more info about that here:  Please note, only 50 items may be exported at once.

To get to “My Folder,” click the option shown in the top toolbar of any EBSCO database (screenshot below).  We recommend using Discovery search to get here.  Simply search for any topic to get to the results page.  Then, you’ll need to sign in using your WCU email address and the same password you use for other WCU applications (Canvas, email, etc.).

Once you’ve signed into your folder, you’ll see your name and saved items.

We’ve highlighted the places you need to check in the screenshot below:

  1. All articles must be “selected” before they will email or export.
  2. If using custom folders, you will need to email or export separately.  You can move everything to one folder if easier.
  3. Email option.  Hint: choose the correct citation format before exporting.
(*To retrieve the article later, make sure to use the permalink and not the url in the citation.)
  4. Export option.  Choose CSV for Excel spreadsheet.

As always, please email if you are having any trouble at all.  This is the best way to get in touch with a librarian for help.
